The medical center treats 65% (over 20,000 patients) of all children in the region who suffer from cancer and serious blood disorders. More than 700 children with cancer are in continuous care at the hospital.

The Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit is the only such dedicated unit in the country and the region, and carries out about 45 transplantations annually.
