Nutritional Tips for Rosh Hashanah
In anticipation of the new Jewish Year, Rosh Hashanah, Dafna Ziv Busani, a dietician in the Nutrition and Dietary Unit at Schneider Children’s, has issued nutritional tips regarding the consumption of popular foods during the Holiday.

Poisonous Snake Bites
In the space of one day, two children aged 5 and 7 were brought to Schneider Children’s with poisonous snake bites. Both children were treated in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit after which they were transferred to the Surgery Department.

Shalom Grade I
In anticipation of their entering Grade I in 2011, Schneider Children’s will be holding enrichment and preparatory workshops for children in pre-school kindergartens. The workshops will ensue throughout the 2010/11 school year and will be conducted by a specially trained pediatric occupational therapist. The Occupational Therapy Service at Schneider Children’s has operated preparatory workshops for Grade I for the past 12 years.

Huge Happening for Employees Children

About 500 children and their parents participated in the exciting event that took place on the hospital’s lawns, which became a huge Luna park for half a day.

Sara Levy of Petach Tikvah, and Ziona Sharon of Rosh Ha’ayin, received certificates of recognition for their many years of service to Schneider Children’s through the “Yeladim Shelanu” (Our Children) organization.

School for Cystic Fibrosis (CF)
Schneider Children’s has opened a school for Cystic Fibrosis (CF) in the Pulmonology Institute with the support of the Israeli CF Society. The objective of the school program is to enable children to express themselves, expand their knowledge and understanding about CF, strengthen their daily coping with the condition and improve their compliance. This is the only project of its kind in the country and was established following a donation from the Joseph Levy Foundation in England.
